Imes covered bridge

These images were made with my Nikon D810 camera and my
Zeiss Planar T* 50mm F/1.4 ZF.2 manual focus Lens.

I had a pretty good idea where all of these bridges were and had paper
maps, GPS coordinates and WAZE waypoints so I was confident I could find
most if not all of them.

Driving into town I decided to stop in to the information center and met
the nicest old lady. She was a tiny little thing... a life-long resident
of Winterset, Iowa and was a treasure trove of information about the town
and it's history.

I wound up spending a lot more time at the visitor center than I planned
but it was impossible to leave because she just had so much great and
interesting information.

Listening to this lovely old lady with her husband of a lifetime sitting
beside her I was struck by how wonderful a committed life-long relationship
with someone must be. Not that I will ever find that in my own life but
just being with her, listening to her and imagining how she might have
been as a young girl filled me with awe.

I told her that I had just visited the Buddy Holly plane crash site in
Clear Lake, Iowa and she said that she remebered that day very well
(as do I).. said she was in a car with her boyfriend (her now husband)
and was very sad about the news. We also talked about the day Patsy
Cline died.

What a remarkable old girl. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to meet her.

Very harsh lighting conditions again today. So not especially thrilled
about the images I got.
