Pictures taken at BZ Corner in
2020,
2022
Here's pictures of our 2014 visit to the
Goldendale Observatory.
Also pictures of our visits in
2016,
2018.
Here's pictures of our visit to the
Presby Museum, Goldendale, Washington in 2018.
The small Washington community of B Z Corner is located on the west
bank of the White Salmon River in Klickitat County. According to "A Place
Called Peculiar:" (Frank Gallant, 2012), B Z Corner was named for William
"BZ" Biesanz, a "gregarious and witty strawberry grower here in the 1920s."
These images were made with my Nikon D810 camera and my
Zeiss 50mm f/1.4 Planar T* manual focus lens.
Not a bad day weather-wise. Spring is finally here. Maybe. Warm, sunny
bluebird day. Got close to 70 degrees out Klickitat way. It's been raining,
cold, windy and even snowy on an almost daily basis and the rain and wind
is supposed to return tomorrow. So today was definitely the day to head
out of town for some photography.
Early May and it's still snowing like crazy at the higher elevations.
The mountain will be bare soon enough and since I'll be heading to eastern
Oregon soon and will be gone for a few weeks it was now or never to get
pictures of Mount Adams while it's still covered in snow. Did Mount Hood
a week ago. Will try to get up to Mount Saint Helens this coming week.
We shall see....
1947 (1946?) Kaiser Frazer 4-door sedan. Not sure of the model since the
badging has been removed. Possibly a 1946 model. Definitely rare
and worth a lot of dough even if not running (or no power train).
Interior is rough but the dash, steering ans so on is mostly there.
Obviously I didn't try to open the hood or any of the car doors.
The Kaiser Frazer is actually in Glenwood, parked in a field in
front of a home just across from the Glenwood general store. The
body looks to be in very good condition especially since it's as
old as I am.
