2020
The 2020 trip turned out to be a scouting mission. The road to Hurricane
Ridge was closed due to snow but the Ranger said they do start plowing
and open the road up after Thanksgiving. And the road to Altair was
washed out so no going out there. The Indian tribes have had the roads
to their reservations closed since March, 2020 "due to covid" which means no
access to a lot of the coastal locations. Didn't get any good pictures
on that trip. the conditions for photography were horrid. In a few locations
it was clear and I did have interesting subjects to shoot but in every
case the bright sun, low in the sky, was straight ahead!
The roads to the various rain forests all seemed to be open but I didn't
think I'd get any good pictures in them considering the conditions. The
only pics I took were at the surprisingly uber-crowded Rialto Beach....
and those pics came out lousy due to harsh lighting conditions.
Mount Olympus could be an interesting climb. According to the Park
service it's a difficult, hazardous technical climb. I do have the gear
(except for detailed maps), the skills and training for something like
that although I am pretty rusty and not in as good condition as I was a
few years ago. We shall see. The biggest issue is that it's a 17+ mile (x2)
hike just to start the climb to the summit so this is definitely a
multi-day, backpacking endeavor.
There are a couple of other "hills" in the park that are less technical
so maybe one or more of them to start off with. This trip will mostly be
a scouting mission to find out where everything is, how to navigate the
park and maybe get a few good landscape images.
Of course I no longer have a hiking partner and this park's wilderness
may not be the place to stroll off solo. On the other hand, being alone
is preferrable to being with someone who wishes they were with someone
else so I guess it all works out in the end.
The lying commie tyrants: Two years after the two week lockdown
(that never ended) to "flatten the curve", both the Oregon and Washington
Governors (both freedom hating power hungry autocrats) finally lifted the
unlawful, unconstitutional lockdowns. At least until the November, 2022
elections are over. If these scumbags remain in power, expect a new
"emergency" to come along shortly where they will re-impose their forced
obedience mask, jab and lockdown tyranny.
OBEY!
Incredibly, there are still legions of imbeciles and sheep walking around
wearing face diapers. It's certainly someone's right to be an idiot (as
evidenced by all the Biden bumper stickers still out there). but jeeze
Louise... why not just hang a sign around your neck saying you're an idiot?
These images were made with my Nikon D810 camera and my
Zeiss Planar T* 50mm F/1.4 ZF.2 manual focus Lens.
I was treated to a nice sunset and some half way decent images.
Now that's one butt-fugly broad even without the hideous outfit.
The sheep out here have been thoroughly indoctrinated by the commie
Inslee. The tyrant voters of Washington declined to remove from office.
So you imbeciles get no sympathy from me since you got what you voted for.
Still, it's comical seeing these emasculated zombies walking around wearing
their obedience masks, oblivious to the fact that even grammar school
children know that these cloth masks provide zero protection from the
dreaded Covid scamdemic or any other vius. Morons.
Then there's businesses like these operated by karens who love control
so much that they post "please take your business elsewhere" signs in
their storefront windows. Apparently oblivious to the fact that mail
order seed businesses have thrived in America for a couple of hundred
years. So why, exactly, would I allow these dipsos to subjugate me and
force me to put on a face diaper for the privilige of spending my money
at their place when I can just as easily purchase seeds from the same place
they get them, at pretty much the same price?
It amazes me that dimwits like this are still able to stay in bsiness.
