And given my now advanced decline into geezerdom, probably my last climb done in September, 2013.

I was out to Mount Saint Helens in 2010 and again in 2011, 2013

The gas station at Kid Valley has been closed for many years. The
Chevron in Toutle is now closed and looks like it won't be re-opening
anytime soon. Motorcycles, especially, should fill up in Castle Rock
before heading east to the mountain.

DIRECTIONS

The most popular tourist route into the Mount St. Helens area is via Washington state
route 504. It can be reached at Castle Rock (exit #49) off Interstate 5 in Washington,
about one hour and 15 minutes north of Portland and two hours south of Seattle.

A lovely, dry, warm day on the mountain. I'm heading out tomorrow
for a road trip and won't return for a few weeks. Wanted to get
some pictures of the mountain while it was still covered in snow. There
were a lot of low clouds so not the greatest images but the mountain
will likely be bare by the time I'm able to return.

The road to Johnston Ridge is open and the road is fine although all
the signs say it's still closed. The visitor center is closed as they
are doing maintenance to the building.

They are probably going to name me the Donut King up here soon....

There were a few goats sunning themselves up here today.
