A detailed trip report for my 2010 Wind Mountain hike can be found HERE.
We were out to Falls Creek Falls in 2011. Click that link for a very detailed trail report.

Getting there: From Portland, take Washington SR 14 East. About 5 miles east of
Stevenson, at a sign labeled for Carson, turn left onto highway 30 (Wind River Road).
Follow 30 north 15 miles. Just past the fish hathery, the road forks to the right.
Take this turn. You are still on the Wind River highway,
At 0.8 miles past this fork, turn right onto road 3062, which is labeled Falls Creek.
Follow the gravel road FR 3062 for two and a half miles to the end. Take no turns!

This is a pretty easy hike, especially if you just do the 4.4 mile round trip
to the base of the falls. It's a wide, well traveled, well signed trail. You
used to need a USFS pass to park at the trailhead but there is a sign on the
kiosk stating that one is not currently needed.

After a short ways you'll come up on this bridge. There is a trail straight
ahead... don't take it. It goes for about 1/2 mile and then disappears. Cross
the bridge and continue your hike.

It was a nice Fall day. A little cold but sunny and clear. Foliage color is
about at peak here.

There's lots of colorful fungi out here.

Falls Creek Falls is one of the nicer waterfalls in the Gorge area.
Note the shelf half way up in this picture. It's an easy scramble to reach it
for even better views.

The view from the middle tier.

If you back track a ways and then go up the Falls Creek Trail you'll eventually
make it to the falls headwaters. This spot isn't viewable from the trail but it's
close to it. Definitely worth the side trip.

I don't know Officer. She was just over there taking a picture of the water
going over the falls. I heard a splash and....

Head back along the Falls Creek Trail and take the fork marked "to parking lot".
You'll eventually come up on this bridge which is about 1/2 mile from the trailhead.
The sign is a little misleading but go left after you cross the bridge.

Zipped over to Wind Mountain. Pictures of that hike are HERE.
