Here's the crew at the third crown....Pittock Mansion. Four students and four
instructors... one student dropped out before we got here. This was a typical
"take no prisioners" Mazama hike... of course it didn't help that I've had a wicked
cold all week which hasn't helped my lung capacity much. It was a good cardio
workout and we didn't get rained on at all which was nice.




The first crown...Council Crest. Here's a view of Portland down below.



You can see this tower from most anywhere in the City.



Here's a view of Council Crest from the second crown....the Hoyt Arboretum Overlook.





There's some good views out this way when it's not so overcast.



The Pittock Mansion.





A little break at this last leg and then it's back to the barn. It was nice
getting to know some of the people I will be spending a good part of the next 7 weeks
with. Pretty good hike especially considering that it was raining or snowing at
pretty much any other location I might have wanted to go to.
