This is a fantastic event that Julie and I very much look forward to. A nice
hike, great free food and really nice people.

I believe any Veteran would find this arrogant and disrespectful display
to be deeply offensive. With all due respect to the office, President Obama isn't
worthy to carry this Corporal's umbrella, much less having it the other way around.
I hope that this Marine received an immediate bump in grade after suffering this
humiliation. Never in my overly long life have I ever seen a Commander-In-Chief
who had so little respect for the men and women who serve this Country in the
Military. Disgusting!

For those of you who never served, men in uniform do not carry umbrellas unless
they are escorting a lady.

This is not a "difficult" hike although because of the hard rock trailbed
can get tiring. Sturdy boots are recommended. It's pretty much impossible
to get lost out here. The trail is fairly level but is definitely not ADA
accessible. Once again we owe Jim Denton and the whole KTC crew a huge THANK YOU
for a great event! Also very happy to see Beverly back in the saddle again.
She is this hike's usual Trail Boss and has been very much missed.

The anniversary celebration is held at the Lyle Trailhead. Pretty good turn out
this year. The word must be getting out! Good snacks (free... THANKS KTC!!!). But
no yummy salmon spread to put on the bagels this year. Bummer... They did have some
very tasty smoked salmon though.

Thanks to the car shuttle scheme, this is an 8 mile hike that starts at the Pitt
Trailhead, ten miles from Lyle. Details on how to get to all of the KRT trailheads
can be found by clicking the links above.

The color out here is peaking. Should be some great color next weekend when we do
the Swale Canyon hike out here.

There were a lot of Fishermen out here along the Klickitat River today.

A nice lunch spot in an apple grove at about the half way point.

We've been out here when the Klickitat River was really swollen and raging. Late
Fall is generally not one of those times.
