American Independence Day, 2012
It was a perfect bluebird day. Wonderful views, especially going over Bakeoven Road
and along Highway 97. There are a lot of mountan tops to look at on this ride!
Mount Hood was the first.
A quick stop at Government Camp before heading east. The weather will get
downright toasty once we get east of the mountain.
Heading up Bakeoven Road. That's the town of Maupin down below.
I tried but I'm just not the cute and credible new car SpokesModel that Julie is.
Julie packed us a nice little picnic lunch to enjoy.
There was a mole digging a hole right beside us. It seemed to amuse Julie to no
end that I wanted to check that out.
This is apparently the authentic Shaniko, Oregon City Hall, built in 1901 but was
refurbished and moved to it's current location fairly recently.
